One of the many reasons why Starmer lost the confidence of the British people was his position on Israel / Palestine.
Andy Burnham wants us to believe that he will be different. But his appointment of James Purnell as his chief of staff has set alarm bells ringing. And he’s being careful not to use the word “genocide”, and not to commit himself to any new punitive action towards Israel. So it’s vitally important that we keep up the pressure now.
